FEBRUARY 19, 2007 Liberal MP Carolyn Bennett endorses Scott Simser's nomination bid at Maslin Playhouse kick-off event.

Scott Simser, his wife Lori, their kids Matthew & Graham, and members of Scott's nomination team welcomed dozens of supporters and guests to the Maslin Playhouse on Monday evening to help launch Scott's Liberal nomination bid for Carleton Mississippi Mills.

Guests, mixed and mingled over desserts and refreshments to the melodies of a pianist in the stylish lobby of Kanata's Ron Maslin Playhouse.

Formalities began with the arrival of special guest speaker and Liberal MP Dr. Carolyn Bennett who addressed the gathering, speaking passionately on social justice issues, and the importance of moving advocacy "that someone like Scott has already done in his life... into good public policy, that is good economic policy."

Scott then took the podium, offering his experience in understanding people's issues and advocating on their behalf; appealing to Liberal members and supporters that it will take team cooperation to win back this riding.

Commenting on Scott's remarks and nomination bid, Dr. Bennett remarked, "Thank you for taking the big leap. You were terrific,  the humour, the passion, the commitment to social justice were so obvious. We need you in the House!!!"

The nomination kick-off event was fully accessible for persons with disabilities and families.  Sign language interpreters and real time captioning were made available and children were entertained with games and activities by Goopee the Clown.
